Job Summary
- To assess, evaluate and care for surgical patients of all ages. (neonate to geriatrics) this includes but is not limited to preparation of surgical supplies, instruments and equipment on the sterile field, and assisting the surgeon during procedures.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
- Post high school graduate of a surgical technologist program.
- Actual scrubbing experience during technologist program is preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Must have certification as a surgical technologist or be eligible to write the certification exam with the goal of completion of certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Work Schedule
- Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
- Occasional weekend (On call one weekend per month)
- Occasional holiday (On call 1 holiday per year)
- Occasional call time (On call one day per week and one weekend per month)
- Day shifts
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
